The North Shore consists mainly of suburbs north of Chicago like Deerfield, Evanston, Glenview, Glencoe, Highland Park, Kenilworth, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Northfield, Wilmette, and Winnetka and bordering the shores of Lake Michigan. However, there are some nearby Chicago suburbs that are not bordering Lake Michigan that is controversially included as part of the Northshore. Most of the Northshore suburbs fall within Cook and Lake Counties.
